THE EMERGENCY IS HERE.
It’s not coming tomorrow when Trump hikes tariffs to an impossible rate.
It’s not next week when he escalates his assault on Canadian sovereignty.
It’s not next month when Poilievre wins power and begins systematically unraveling democracy using the same authoritarian playbook.
The emergency is already here.
Trump is deporting people to foreign prisons without trial.
He says he wants to send Americans there next.
He is testing how far he can go.
And he is winning.
This is not politics. This is a full-spectrum assault on the civilizational order — on science, law, media, education, and the public good. On truth. On compassion. On freedom.
What is happening is not normal.
And the response must be not normal either.
We cannot be siloed. We cannot be quiet. We cannot wait.
We need civic resistance that meets the moment — across borders, across movements, across identities.
We need each other. We need to show up. Again and again.
With our families. With our friends. With our anger, our heartbreak, our love.
This Friday, April 19, 2-4pm in front of the US Consulate, we demonstrate. We raise our voices in solidarity with our American friends watching their country collapse in real time. We raise our voices to tell Canada what we will never tolerate the same.
Because we still believe in justice.
Because we are not going to be disappeared.
Because we know the power of the people is real — if we wield it together.
Share. Invite. Show up.
We are the firewall now.
